Cadillac’s car subscription service is about to take over Dallas, as well as Los Angeles. The service is already popular in New York City, which makes it probable that it will soon spill down from Dallas and into the Waco area.
But what is this new subscription service, and how is it different from buying or leasing a car? Unlike leasing, which locks you into one model for a specific duration, or buying, which makes you the outright owner, Cadillac’s car subscription service lets you switch between up to 18 models a year. You can also go month-to-month, in case there is ever a time you won’t need a car.
To sign up, you’ll pay a one-time $500 startup fee. Then, each month is just $1,800, which includes taxes, registration, maintenance, and even insurance. You will, however, be capped at 2,000 miles a month.
All 2017 and 2018 Cadillac models are included, such as the Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac CT6, and the Cadillac “V” performance sedans. You can manage the program, including which car you want to currently subscribe to, via an app.
