Cadillac is looking to fill a gap in its lineup, and we here at Richard Karr Cadillac couldn’t be more excited. The premium brand has recently started to build test versions of the XT4, a new small SUV. This new vehicle will join the Cadillac lineup alongside the XT5 crossover and the full-size Escalade, which are the only two SUVs the brand currently offers.
This new small Cadillac SUV will be a competitor to other vehicles like the BMW X3 and Audi Q3. It will have similar underpinnings as the Chevrolet Malibu sedan and will be made at the same plant as the Malibu – General Motors’ Fairfax, Kansas plant.
“It’s a new architecture for us, and it is up to the task,” said Johan de Nysschen, president of Cadillac. “It’s the right size, dynamics, and sophistication to attain what I believe is worthy of a Cadillac in this segment.”
The Cadillac XT4 will not only give buyers who love luxury crossovers more options in the Cadillac showroom, but it will also help keep the assembly workers at the carmaker’s Fairfax plant working. While there is little information out about this new vehicle, it’s safe to say that the Cadillac XT4 will offer the perfect balance of luxury, convenience, and size.
